Red List reveals conservation pay-offs

چکیده

The protocol states that approval from the provider must be obtained before a genetic resource is used in a product and that, in each case, contracts governing the distribution of benefits should be agreed by provider nations and users. User nations are obliged to establish at least one organisation to check that proper procedures are followed and prevent the illegal use of genetic resources. In some cases, the benefits from derivative products, made with genetic material that has been improved or altered by the user, will also have to be shared with the nation that provided the original genetic resources. Whether such benefits are shared will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

Solving matrix games with hesitant fuzzy pay-offs

The objective of this paper is to develop matrix games with pay-offs of triangular hesitant fuzzy elements (THFEs). To solve such games, a new methodology has been derived based on the notion of weighted average operator and score function of THFEs. Firstly, we formulate two non-linear programming problems with THFEs. Then applying the score function of THFEs, we transform these two problems in...

Examining the Evidence for Chytridiomycosis in Threatened Amphibian Species

Extinction risks are increasing for amphibians due to rising threats and minimal conservation efforts. Nearly one quarter of all threatened/extinct amphibians in the IUCN Red List is purportedly at risk from the disease chytridiomycosis. However, a closer look at the data reveals that Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (the causal agent) has been identified and confirmed to cause clinical disease i...
